Ingo's War

by Ditto Theatre Company

children-and-family, theatre

The heart-warming tale of Ingo the dog and his journey of bravery, hope and finding courage where you thought you had none.

about the production

Ingo was a very nervous dog. He was afraid of the dark, loud noises and did not like making new friends. Owned and cherished by a young girl living in London, life for Ingo is as easy as pie. Yet as war looms, the girl and her dog are evacuated to the country. But when Ingo is left on the train, he is suddenly plunged into an adventure which tips his steady world upside down... Using an amalgamation of storytelling, puppetry and movement, Ditto tells this heart-warming tale of bravery, hope and finding courage where you thought you had none.

about the artist

Ditto are an award-winning family theatre company specialising in puppetry, movement and storytelling, with an aim to educate and inspire.

We will need a PA system that we can link up to our MacBook in order to play music. We can perform the show with or without lighting.

The show is suitable for ages 5+. We are passionate about bridging the gap between parents and children watching theatre and want to create a show that involves and captivates the attention of the whole family. Parents can enjoy our shows just as much as children.

"A nuanced, delicately moving piece of storytelling... Talented use of movement and physical theatre"

The List

The show has every possibility to be made as accessible as possible and is something that we are really looking at focusing on in particular for our next tour. We will be hosting our first BSL interpreted performance of our other show, Rocket Girl, in June 2019.

We can also offer workshops in beginners puppetry, devising as an ensemble and also storytelling. This can be aimed towards children as young as 5 years, all the way through to adulthood. We also have a Rocket Girl Educational Pack available should schools, groups and youth theatre groups be interested in obtaining this.

We charge a day fee of £950.00 and with this can include either two performances or a performance and a workshop. If you are interested in booking a number of days, than a reduced fee can be discussed.
