In and Out of Chekhov's Shorts

by Dragonboy Productions

comedy, theatre

As memorable and bracing as jumping into a cold plunge pool after a hot sauna!

about the production

Chekhov is one of the great writers of the 20th Century and these tales, newly adapted and directed by Eliot Giuralarocca, will be performed by a company of five Actor/Musicians. The show features original live music and stylish ensemble story-telling, and will be an exhilarating, fun and accessible romp through some of the best of Chekhov’s short stories. These wonderful hymns to the absurdity of everyday life, are by turns hilarious, romantic, poignant, odd and memorable. Ludicrous situations and larger than life characters abound in an evening that simply cannot be missed!

about the artist

Dragonboy Productions creates theatre that tell stories and unfolds in front of you as you watch; a group of actors and an audience sharing and experiencing together in an act of communal imagination. Theatre offer us the potential to transcend the moment we chance to live in and to imagine what it’s like to be in someone else’s time and space. It can provide a window for us to see how other people live, how they react in different situations and maybe in turn help us to imagine how we would feel and what we would do.

We are very keen to help venues both in the promotion of the show and in developing their audiences and we would be happy to offer a bespoke wrap-around offer that could include workshops at the theatre or in schools, pre and/or post show discussions at the theatre and discounted ticket prices with free tickets for teachers to encourage School group bookings.

This is very much dependant on House size but we would be looking to clear £800 per show, ideally as a guarantee against a box office split.
