Communicate

by Sheepish Productions

theatre

A journey through grief, love, superheroes and pen maintenance, that focuses on opening up and not letting your past determine your future.

about the production

Communicate is an intense exploration of the effects of grief on individuals and on relationships. The play is autobiographical, the writer lost both his parents whilst he was in his twenties, shut down, did not communicate and, a few years later, was diagnosed with PTSD. The central aims of the play are to address and raise awareness of the need to grieve, to talk, to listen and to have hope. The play seeks to open up a dialogue about addressing your feelings at the right time and in the right way to try to limit the long-term impact.

about the artist

Sheepish Productions is a Doncaster-based theatre company that creates new work for touring across the UK. We aim to form an honest emotional connection with our audiences. We address issues that impact, affect and concern all of us and, in doing so, seek to raise awareness, prompt thought and provide comfort. We do this by drawing on personal experiences. Our work is rooted in themes of grief, trauma, mental health and the vulnerability of the human condition. Our work is issue based but we approach them with a dark sense of humour, the desire to question, provoke and surprise.
