spoken-word-and-live-literature, comedy
Two idiosyncratic, accessible and highly enjoyable solo shows from two of London's top spoken word perfomrers.
about the production
The C/D borderline is a pulsating account of struggling at school and striving to find your place in the world. It's autobiographical material draws on Paul's experiences growing up in the London commuter belt, trying to focus in the classroom while being distracted by juvenile pranks, relationships, drum & bass and class-B drugs. It's funny, charming, honest and thoroughly entertaining. Garibaldi is a surreal quest to save the name Gary from extinction – which dealing with other aspects of loss and longing in your early thirties. Expect poems, props, one-liners and creatively twisted karaoke numbers.
about the artist
Edinburgh Fringe 2016: in a tiny, shared bedroom that smelled of damp towls, Gary From Leeds and Paul Cree, both at the fringe with their respective solo shows, Garibaldi and The C/D Borderline, decided to form Leeds and Cree in order to tour their work togethor. Having shared many stages on the spoken word circuit they felt they had two shows that complimented each other and would work well as a double bill. They also share a passion for lower league football and epic 90's dance music.
stage dimensions
width: 3 metres

Both shows will require a PA for audio, which which will be operated by each performer.
The shows attracted a broad spectrum of audience members over the course of the Fringe, from teenagers to pensioners, so we'd say open-minded audiences aged 16-80 who look to be challenged, engaged as well as thoroughly entertained when they see a performance.
“A bravura performance...The C/D Borderline is a nuanced and richly detailed coming-of-age story"
“An extraordinary journey...spoken word at its finest and funniest.”
Would be unsuitable for those with hearing difficulties
Paul regularly works as a facilitator for schools and arts orgainisations of spoken word, rap, beatbox and drama and is happy to discuss the possibility of running some sessions around the shows. A standard 2 hour workshop would cost in the region of £120 but is negoitiable. It would be preferable if these were to take place as close (location and time wise) to any agreed performance dates as possible.
Negotiable, box office splits or guarantee.
Suggested fee: £300 for both shows
