Spiral down the stairs to the world of the inventor. Consumed by grief, he undertakes work on his biggest creation yet, his lost wife… but at what cost? ​ Certain Dark Things present their imaginative combination of puppetry, physical theatre and animation to tell the story of one man as he treads the fine line between genius and insanity. about the artist

Certain Dark Things are an award-winning theatre company creating visually exciting productions with a dark twist. The company premiered our first production, The Girl Who Cannot Die, at Brighton Fringe in 2015, where it won the "Best of the Fest" award. Melancholy is our second production and has been developed with support from artsdepot's Artist Residency Programme. Certain Dark Things have just been selected as one of the New Diorama Theatre's Graduate Emerging Companies for 2016-2017.

Visual Effects - Ability to rig projector, cradle and cable (supplied by company) to be operated from tech box
LFX - Cold and Warm wash
