Speeches made by the current conservative government are woven through a text that explores religious extremism, absolute power, damnation and salvation through the eyes of Mary Tudor. The production is designed to work in non-traditional theatre spaces so is versatile, postable and tech light. Amplified sound is important for this piece but not vital.
about the artist
Newly formed for last year's Edinburgh Fringe. BCB Productions was created to showcase the work of New Theatre Royal Portsmouth’s Associate Artist in Residence Bernie C Byrnes. Bernie is a multi-award winning writer and director. Previous directing commissions include The Globe, the Royal Shakespeare Company and most recently Soho Theatre, Main House. Bernie is an established theatrical practitioner, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the Guild of Directors. She has attracted multiple five star reviews for her shows over the past 15 years.
