Stamp

by Spun Glass Theatre

theatre

Hosted by the love-child of Sandi Toksvig and Frank N. Furter, STAMP is a cheeky, extreme and challenging gameshow where you make the rules.

about the production

An interactive cabaret experience for the naughty child in everyone. Audience teams compete in our theatre game show which plays with gender stereotypes, revealing the darker power behind everyday objects and assumptions. The company weave storytelling through a highly interactive and fun audience experience. Helen White plays the charismatic host - yielding Barbie dolls and cans of beer to memorable, atmospheric sound design by composer Laura Bowler. Two team leaders keep the audience teams involved and comfortable whilst they push the boundaries of audience participation and share personal stories about masculinity and femininity. A transformative experience shaped by the audience.

about the artist

Spun Glass Theatre is fascinated by gender politics and our narratives revolve around the everyday traumas and triumphs of romantic love. We work in all places, with all people and respond to the world around us. Founded in 2010 by Jessica Cheetham, Spun Glass Theatre infuse well-loved characters with potent autobiographical theatre to create award-winning productions. We embrace the challenge of taking risks, forging forwards to make new artistic discoveries with bold performer-led ensembles.

"STAMP is an incredible piece full of fun that will leave you laughing and smiling until your cheeks ache. Get ready to shout, woop and cheer on your team and forget about the fact you may not actually be a man/woman. I recommend anyone that can make it goes to this show, I cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard"

"a rare gem"

Three Weeks

“STAMP is a ridiculous, riotous ripping up of the rule book for examining gender binaries. Someone should really tell them that shows seeking to question the nature of men and women and then educate us on our own social constructs need to be a lot angrier, more self-satisfied and duller. This is none of that.”
