Will Tell and the Big Bad Baron

by Fideri Fidera

theatre, children-and-family

A fun-packed theatre treat for families with capers around castles, damsels in distress, and a jaw-dropping joust on life-size horse puppets

about the production

In this reimagining of the legend of the Swiss Robin Hood, Wilhelm Tell’s fiesty young daughter Will sets off on a chivalric quest to rescue her father from the Big Bad Baron’s deepest darkest dungeon. Will, inspired by the adventures of Robin Hood, knows all about standing up to tyrants but is clueless when the Baron’s daughter Edel falls madly in love with her and also wants rescuing. Can Will with just pots and pans for armour and a donkey for a steed defeat the Bad Baron and free her father and Edel?

about the artist

Fidera Fideri is an artist-led Anglo-Swiss children's theatre company based in Brighton. We are dedicated to creating new, original plays that offer engaging and entertaining shared experiences for kids and their grown-ups. When we create a new play, we make sure it will work just as well in a village hall as in a large theatre. Our plays Pitschi the Kitten with Dreams, Oskar’s Amazing Adventure, Ugg ’n’ Ogg and the World’s First Dogg and our most recent show, Will Tell and the Big Bad Baron have had over 300 performances in the UK and Ireland.

We can perform the show indoors ot outdoors. On a state or the floor. IIn theatres we use what tech / tech support is available. The show is performed end on or on a thrust stage if available. For rural touring venues we can travel with our own lights and sound but can do the show without these.

For all the family. Recommended 3+ but younger children are welcome too.

“A cracking show delivering the right dose of comedy magic. The adults in the audience were laughing as much as the kids”

Laura Crichton, Edinburgh With Kids

"Outstanding. An August without Theatre Fideri Fidera would be like the Edinburgh Tattoo without bagpipes. Their sets and puppetry are second to none. They've roared out of lockdown doing what they do best, making children laugh while they think - or should that be think while they laugh"

Dan Lentell, GetYourCoatsOn.com

"Recommended. This a great family show: energetic, pacey with plenty of opportunity to join in and let off steam."

Kate Saffin, FringeReview.co.uk
