Ugg 'n' Ogg and the World's First Dogg

by Fideri Fidera

theatre, children-and-family

The mind-boggling comic tale of how two young hunter-gatherers Ugg ‘n’ Ogg palled up with the wolves and invented our best friend, the dog

about the production

As with all our productions Ugg 'n' Ogg and the World's First Dogg uses a rich mix of physical comedy, clowning, puppetry, music and song to capture and keep the children's attention and interest throughout. Just as important for us is that the performance offers a shared experience and that the grown ups get as much enjoyment as the children. “I’m always on the look-out for children’s shows doing something truly different. This play stood out, because it’s about a subject I have literally never seen tackled by a theatre company before. Brilliant' Caro Moses, Three Weeks

about the artist

Fidera Fideri is an artist-led Anglo-Swiss children's theatre company based in Brighton. We are dedicated to creating new, original plays that offer engaging and entertaining shared experiences for kids and their grown-ups. When we create a new play, we make sure it will work just as well in a village hall as in a large theatre. Our plays Pitschi the Kitten with Dreams, Oskar’s Amazing Adventure, Ugg ’n’ Ogg and the World’s First Dogg and our most recent show, Will Tell and the Big Bad Baron have had over 300 performances in the UK and Ireland.

“Outstanding. Theatre Fideri Fidera are not Fringe favourites for nothing. Every aspect of the production is marvellous. From the acting, which is pitched perfectly to the wide-eyed wee ones; to the puppets and puppetry, which are in turn beautifully constructed and wondrously brought to life; via the story itself which is full of heart and smiles”

Edinburgh 49

Four fantastic stars for Ogg ’n’ Ugg ’n ’ Dogg which is genuinely funny and energetic and the adults in the audience were laughing just as much as the kids. With a brilliant mix of story, song, puppeteering, Natasha Granger and Jack Faires as Ogg and Ugg weave a tale from 10,000 years ago to modern day, from wolf to dog. They are warm, enthusiastic and their audience involvement is spot on.

Edinburgh Family Magazint

"Thank you for bringing the production, and the book, to Wigtown and Dumfries. Dumfries was a particularly high point for us as many of the families who attended have never been to the theatre before. They come from a very deprived area of the town and it was a big step for them but they had an amazing time and are raring to come back to our children's festival next spring. Thank you for ensuring they had such a brilliant and positive experience.”  On Oskar's Amazing Adventure
