Falling

What happens when terra firma isn't firm at all?

about the production

What happens when life swallows you whole and terror is only a heartbeat away? Falling explores the relationship between a mother and a teenage daughter as they cope with the aftermath of trauma. As well as a meticulously well-observed portrait of the transition experienced when a child grows up and leaves home, the production examines the very fragility of life itself and the challenge of living boldly with the presence of uncertainty. A script and full recording are available on request. Please email ruth@theatrealibi.co.uk

1 venue technician for the pre-rig, fit-up, and get-out. We tour with a TSM who operates the show. Get-in: Full pre-rig completed prior to 4 hour get-in. As company members assist with the get-in, it needs to finish at least 2.5 hours prior to first curtain up, to allow for a meal-break, warm up and the half. Get-out 1 hour. The set is freestanding and sits on our floor cloth which will be taped to the stage. We prefer black box style masking as far as possible. We tour with our own projector, lighting desk, dimmers and amps.

The show’s target audience includes adult theatre goers interested in drama, new writing and physical theatre. It is also suitable for GCSE, BTEC and AS/A-Level Drama, Theatre and Performing Arts students. Theatre Alibi is a prescribed practitioner on the AQA AS/A-Level Drama and Theatre syllabus.
