There Were Definitely Swans introduces us to four performers as they re-stage Swan Lake in a bare rehearsal space. As reality and fiction become confused, emotions run high and. while the traditional choreography is nowhere to be seen, Swan Lake comes to life in the most unique of settings in a piece bursting with energy and appeal.

Highfliers is an inclusive contemporary dance and physical theatre company featuring four performers with learning disabilities. It is an initiative of Magpie Dance, presenting vibrant and dynamic new dance which will capture and inspire audiences of all ages.

Lighting design can be simplified to venue spec but includes side lights, front lighting, colours washes, back lights for silhouette effect, spotlight, water effect gobo. Sound track is comprised of 8 separate tracks which are manually faded in and our in response to dancers' cues - one of our artists sits with the technician during the performance to support. Props wise, we require 5 kitchen style chairs and a small table.

The piece is designed for all ages and all audiences.

The piece is performed by four dancers with learning disabilities and is accessible to a diverse range of ages and abilities. There is some limited voice work in the piece and we are unable to offer a signer as part of this performance.

We are able to offer a free inclusive dance workshops for young people with and without disabilities age 16 years and over who have minimum two years dance experience.
