Last Orders at the Dog and Dumplings

by Boogaloo Stu

theatre, comedy

An uproarious and merciless exposé of the cold-blooded takeover striking our communities in the name of regeneration.

about the production

Faced with imminent closure, publicans Kevin and Babs Chisholm from the Dog & Dumplings take on the big boys, in this musical tale of a busy boozer doing battle with dodgy developers. As the wrecking ball swings ever closer, could Kev and Babs end up under cling film in their own Meat Raffle, or will they make mincemeat of the developers? Written, devised and performed by Boogaloo Stu and Flick Ferdinando, Last Orders At The Dog & Dumplings is a riotous knees-up showcasing a new comedy and original music, all the while underlining the serious risks faced by our boozers.

about the artist

Boogaloo Stu (Stuart Alexander) is a portfolio artist with a career spanning three decades as a theatre maker, performer, DJ and presenter. Stu has written, devised and toured nationally with his theatre shows School Of Dance (2008), Pop Magic (2011), Puppet Paramour (2012), Crimplene Millionaire (2013) and Much Ado About Bingo (2016). Participation is key to all of these works, with audiences being central to each performance. With Last Orders at The Dog & Dumplings, Stu is seeking to connect with communities directly affected by gentrification.

“Deadly serious content, delivered with inspired silliness and irreverence, packaged up in a carefully constructed theatrical context that continuously works to blur the lines of convention between audience and performance. Clever, funny, unmissable stuff.”

Mimi Banks, co-director Home Live Art

“Brilliant, funny, ridiculous and a great show.”

Audience Member

“Completely brilliant - have not laughed that much in years!”

Audience Member

All shows are relaxed, extra-live performances, which means that everyone is welcome, including those who find it difficult to observe the usual rules of theatre etiquette. If people need to wriggle around or make noise during the performance then they are more than welcome to. Touch tours are available upon request and the performer is happy to provide story boards and meet with audience members before a show.

The show can either be two people on the road with a soundtrack recording or it can be toured with a two piece band. If the band is included then they can also play after the show as a wrap around gig.

With the band: £1000 inc of all expenses.
This fee is negotiable and reductions available for multiple bookings.

Without the band £850 inc of all expenses.
This fee is negotiable and reductions available for multiple bookings.
