A thrilling new journey into the teenage brain

about the production

A mind-blowing immersive theatre show that combines breathtaking aerial skills, a pulsating soundtrack and stunning projections, Depths of My Mind brings to life the latest developments in neuroimaging connected to the teenage brain. Suspended above the audience on moving transparent platforms, the performers take us into a world where nothing is solid, and explore how it feels to be growing up, changing and searching for somewhere to belong. Created in consultation with young people aged 12 – 25 this thrilling show is inspired by U–Change study led by scientists from the Neuroscience in Psychiatry Network at Cambridge University

Depths of my Mind was created in consultation with young people aged 12-21 and is particularly targeted at young adult audiences, although we have had positive feedback from audiences of all ages. A programme of education and wraparound activity accompanying the show introduces young people to aerial arts and further discusses the scientific research underpinning the show.

It is moving, provocative and pushes the boundaries of theatrical experience in an immersive, thrilling joyride.

Pauline Flannery, Plays to See

The bonus here is the immersive nature of the piece and the audience is encouraged to move around as each new piece develops, to sit on the floor or even lie under the platforms to watch the performers from a different perspective

Alan Fitter, LondonTheatre1

Depths of My Mind is an amazing display of special effects, aerial acrobatics and an in depth look into how the teenage mind works. Overall this is truly the best show I have ever seen.

Harry Pryor-Rogers, ART31 Kent

The best experience involves moving around the space with the performers but people with mobility issues can view the performance from a nominated refuge area at the side of the performance space. There is a small amount of spoken text in the show.

Workshops in aerial skills using harness and cocoon are available - please contact us for details. We are also able to provide a unique experience using our custom-built set where venues are happy for participants to come into the venue after get-in.
