LipService examine the world of women writers scribbling away in secret or under pseudonyms. When Jane Austen's secret writing is interrupted by a visitor, Mr Darcy is left dangling. Left to his own devices he embroiders his own storyline whilest Jane stitches her quilt. This brilliant new comedy has been playing to packed houses and garnering fantastic reviews
about the artist
LipService have been touring for 30 years and won many awards, most recently the Stage Door Foundation Award for Excellence. Their show Withering Looks won the Critics Award for Comedy at the Edinburgh Festival. Their show Inspector Norse played to capacity crowds across Britain. They have had a comedy series on Radio 4 and last year produced a film in association with the Bronte Parsonage.

We require a dedicated theatre space with its own lighting and sound equipment. We bring our own projector
10+ Appeals to women, suitable for book groups, people interested in literature, comedy audiences, U3A, WI's. Our set has a quilted backdrop made by community groups, so local craft groups/shops.

We can provide captioned performances on request at no additional charge. We can provide BSL interpretation for an additional £150 and Audio Description for an additional £150. We have a portable Audio Description unit if venues do not have their own system. Touch tours on request (these work well as the quilting work on the set is 3D)
We have an outreach activity aimed at craft communities. Groups can create quilted squares whivh we add into the backdrop of our set. We provide information as to how to get involved and we could send out a quilt artist for an additional £75 plus travel.
We look for a guarantee against a box office split but this varies according to size of venue. We generally play venues between 150-700 seats.
