theatre, comedy

Slick and stylish pun-laden detective spoof of the classic Hollywood film noir genre

about the production

“Things had been pretty quiet at the office of my agency. Ever since my partner had lost his sense of speech, that is…” Meet Same Sloane, Private Detective (that means he detects things privately) on his most dangerous, most compelling, most farcical case yet. Max Summers, the infamous horse-bookie, has disappeared. His vampish sister, Rowetta, wants to uncover the truth, and calls on our intrepid hero to solve the mystery. Join Sloane, Rowetta, his assistant Frank and a plethora of characters, red herrings and running horses in this hilarious tour-de-force of witty gags, broad slapstick and indulgent punning.

stage dimensions

The performance is fully flexible to accommodate a variety of sound and lighting criteria. We require a general warm lighting state and blackout state as minimum (anything extra adds to the show). We tour with our own sound equipment (which is a far more important element for this particular production). This is run off QLab (toured) and we can provide our own PA system. The performance can play non theatre spaces with a compromise on lighting, please discuss this with us.
We tour the set and equipment in two vehicles and would require parking on or near the venue.

This show has particular appeal to those who seek to be taken out of themselves at the theatre, fans of classic British comedy (the ‘Carry On’ films, the Two Ronnies etc), spoofs (the ‘Naked Gun’ series, the Pink Panther series) and cult spy classics (James Bond, film noir genre).

The show is aimed towards adults, but has plenty of slapstick and buffoonery to keep the attention of younger audiences. Suggested age restriction is 8+.

"Like what would happen if an old fashioned Carry On movie married a 1950s Hollywood Romance and then had an affair with Bertie Wooster."
