The Hours Before We Wake A lo-fi sci-fi black comedy set in 2091. Technology allows us to control our dreams and upload them to DreamShare. Our story follows Ian, a perpetual beta-male, who’s pretty insignificant but dreams of being a hero. After meeting the outcast Bea, he’s plunged headfirst into a world of conspiracy. Tremolo is a Bristol based collaborative theatre company, exploring theatrical story telling using live sound, original music, a touch of humour and lots of movement. We are inspired by big ideas at the edge of human understanding. We like telling stories about science, politics, technology and people themselves. We are not afraid of complexity but we also make work that's accessible and engaging for audiences. Sound: PA system + sound desk (at least 4 channels) . 2 x XLR DI for onstage sound input. 13amp power onstage. Stereo minijack for offstage sound input.
Lighting: Warm wash, Cold Wash, Back light and Side light (not essential)
Specials: One flickering front light (Birdie or small lamp), focused Profiles to mark out a box of light (not essential) + 2 Parcans FOH for colour washes.
Floor: Suitable for movement. No dance matt needed but smooth finish necessary.

Working collaboratively, the Tremolo team has engineered – and that is the right word – the slickest choreography you are likely to see for a long time, a perfectly meshed routine of constant movement and preparation which never misses a beat, creating a visual universe out of nothing but thin air and three wooden blocks which constantly change position to become chairs, stairs, a lift: a whole world of the future.
