A fun-filled cautionary tale about e-safety told through puppetry for familiy audiences as seen on ITV News - http://tinyurl.com/y7jypugd

about the production

Sophie reads about an exciting creature called a Penguinpig on the Internet. Filled with delight and intrigue she sets off alone on an adventure, leading her to the Zoo. But what will she find inside? A cautionary tale told through puppetry offering a fun-filled show that is both educational and highly entertaining. A story that is accessible on many levels, Penguinpig has plenty of engaging charm whilst carrying an important message for older children to consider with their grown-ups. Funded by ACE, Penguinpig toured in 2016 to Half Moon, Little Angel, Polka tent at Wilderness, Waterman's Art Centre among others.

Combining our trademark style of physical performance, puppetry and original music, we specialise in taking top quality theatre to rural communities, and telling untold Lincolnshire stories to a wider audience across the UK and beyond. Barmpot's previous shows include Sadako, a performance installation for 8-12 year olds, in partnership with Culture Works East, Ideastap and Latitude Festival; and Christmas Storms and Sunshine, a Christmas show for families based on the short story by Elizabeth Gaskell.

Suitable for those with access requirements, as the audience remains seated throughout. We could also adapt the show for relaxed or signed shows.

Penguinpig has been created in line with the National Curriculum’s aim for safer Internet practice for KS1. In schools, the e-safety theme of the show is explored further through our interactive and age-appropriate follow-up workshops. We have also created a teacher’s resource pack, so schools can continue the conversation on safer Internet practice throughout the term. Our aim is to help pupils make more progress in their e-safety skills and become more confident online. If you are interested in us delivering a bespoke participation programme or building relationships with local schools please let us know. Wraparound fees are negotiable.

Our fee is £650 for a three show day, but this is negotiable depending on numbers of shows per day or number of days booked.
