about the production

This is a new show for young audiences choreographed by Sophie Nüzel with an original soundscore by Seymour Milton. Based on the book ‘The little Ghost’ the piece engages the audience into a magical, immersive world that unfolds before their eyes. The audience sit in-the-round, the show taking place all around them, creating an adventurous and engaged feel. The piece uses a mix of dance styles including elements of parkour and contemporary dance. Working with a core cast of 3 professionals, a freerunner as well as a young dancer, this piece invites 30 people aged 10-100 years at each venue.

about the artist

The company is led by Artistic Director Sophie Nüzel. Sophie is passionate about developing opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in dance and the arts and develop their skills. In collaboration with dance organisations and artists across the UK she devises dance happenings that aim to reach people from all walks of life. Her skill in integrating large scale community casts into performance saw her being invited to show her work at The Place, The National Theatre as well as at international dance festivals such as Tanzmesse Düsseldorf .

The show is preformed in the round with the audience sitting within
the set boundaries. The set consists of 3 portals, each approx 4 metres high. One of the portals is mounted on a box truss frame which will need securing to a solid structure. We ideally require smooth, sorung or semi sprung floor covering the entire performance area. We require a full range sound system being set up as four point system.

We offer free pre-performance workshops for young audiences. We offer heavily subsidised schools workshops in the run up to performances. We offer a free taster/experience day for the community cast.

The fee is split into two: Performance and Community: Performance - £1200 (2 performances plus an open dress). Community - £1200 (25 workshop hours delivered by Artistic Director plus one further professional dancer, taster day, pre-performance workshops and individually fitted costumes for each participant) We are happy to negotiate.
