A new play inspired by the true event of The Queen becoming stuck in a Gloucestershire pub during a snow blizzard.
about the production
This "terrific" production (Gloucestershire Echo), premiered at the Everyman Cheltenham Studio in March 2016 and subsequently played at Dorchester Arts and Bridport Arts Centre to popular acclaim. Called "fascinating and unexpected" by Richard Eyre, former director of The National Theatre, the play is inspired by when The Queen became stuck in a pub in 1981 and looks at how a power struggle was taking place within the Royal Household because of the growing unpopularity of the Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
